The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is an Executive Agency of the Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions.


Our primary aims are to facilitate road safety and general law enforcement by maintaining registers of drivers and vehicles; and to collect taxation - vehicle excise duty (VED).   

This Web site provides a Notification of Destruction (NoD) / Certificate of Destruction (CoD) facility for the salvage industry and Automated First Registration and Licensing (AFRL) for manufacturers, dealers and importers of new vehicles.

DVLA will respond to requests for information within 2 working days. You will need to be a registered user to have access to these services. If you have any other business or technical queries about these services please contact one of the numbers listed above. This service is only available Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm.

Normal hours of the help desk dealing with password problems only are:
Monday - Friday 8:00am-8:30pm
Saturday 8:00am-5.30pm.
